Fabrizia Ramondino was born in Naples in 1936, and had lived long in Spain, France and Germany. He made his debut late in 1981, having spent a life the Peace Corps and teaching high school, with the novel Althenopis (Einaudi). In the years after leaving his 15 other books. In 1992 works with Mario Martone on the screenplay for the film "Death at a Funeral", which focuses on the figure of the brilliant mathematician Renato Caccioppoli.
In 1999 he won the Grinzane Cavour with the novel reflected Island, in 2000 he was awarded with Flaiano Passage Trieste (Einaudi).
